Senior Electrical Engineer

Job Description

The Senior Electrical Engineer provides electrical expertise to the design team and acts as the primary point of contact for electrical related project issues. Daily tasks require the ability to apply electrical theory and practical knowledge in the lifecycle of projects, including the ability to:

  • Perform electrical calculations (size breakers, fuses, starters, transformers, conductors, raceway and calculate total loads, heat loss, voltage drop)

  • Keep engineering deliverables on time, every time and within budget

  • Read and interpret customer job specifications

  • Design electrical systems, select components and complete a BOM

  • Submit materials for order

  • Review and approve design packages

  • Prepare submittals to shop and customer

  • Interface with sales, customer and shop

  • Direct designers in completing wiring diagrams

  • Develop ITP and assist in customer FAT

  • Interpret redlines to develop As-Built drawings

Job Requirements

  • BS Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Technology

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in design of power systems, lighting systems, UPS systems, grounding systems, and utility systems

  • Must be able to work remote and have flexibility to meet business needs

  • Ability to test or assist in testing of MV, LV gear and control systems is required to validate the performance of electrical equipment

  • Basic computer skills using AutoCAD Electrical and MS Office products

  • Able to apply NEC, UL, ANSI, TDLR and other codes as it applies to the day-to-day activity

  • Ability to interact on a regular basis with shop personnel

  • Able to apply product knowledge and technical skills to solve simple application problems independently with minimum supervision

  • Able to read and interpret electrical symbols, characters, and modify drawings

  • Basic understanding of power system and relay applications as applied to products

  • Able to design one product in the most economical way while achieving quality

  • Learn policies and procedures, work instruction, ISO policies, Safety Rules and Regulations, and

  • vendor products

  • Conduct site visits for project and customer support (10%)

  • Must possess or be able to obtain BASIC safety and a TWIC card

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required

  • Strong background in technical writing preferred


Industrial Electrician

Seaboard Controls, LLC is currently hiring a Industrial Electrician to join the team! We are in Crosby, TX and are hiring immediately.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Perform integration tasks related to the installation of cabling and equipment.

  • Perform services including, but not limited to, the installation of equipment and components, tray, raceways, cable and wire, grounding and bonding and terminations.

  • Inspect systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards and defects for their adjustment or repair and to ensure compliance with Powell standards.

  • Test systems, equipment and components using a variety of tools and equipment.

  • Follow directions from Journeymen, Leads and Supervisors.

  • Promote a safety culture as well as attend all safety meetings.

  • Ensure quality by following work instructions and identifying any potential risks to product quality.

  • Ensure work areas remain clean and well organized.

  • Other duties as required.

Core Competencies

  • Knowledge of materials and methods related to manufacturing.

  • Knowledge of machines and tools including their design, use, repair and maintenance.

  • Conscientious, thorough, accurate, and reliable when performing and completing job tasks.

Qualifications

  • Minimum education level of a High School Diploma is required.

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Safety training certificates are an asset for the position.Working Conditions

  • Must be able to work from all types of ladders (step ladders, "A" frame ladders, and all-size extension ladders).

  • Working at heights usually no higher than 30 feet in the air on or using proper lift equipment.

  • Working around loud machinery.

Physical Requirements

  • Able to maintain body equilibrium and agility to prevent falling when walking, standing, crouching, ascending or descending stairs.

  • Bending the body at the waist, the legs at the knees, and extending arms and hands in any direction in a repetitive manner continuously.

  • Continuous standing, walking 50-300 foot distances for long periods of time with only occasional sitting.

  • Must be able to climb stairs frequently throughout the shift.

  • Able to frequently look over shoulders, work with both arms above shoulders and use both arms at full length frequently.

  • Using upper extremities to apply or exert a force continuously up to 50lbs.

  • Ability to use hand tools such as tin snips, hammer, and power tools (some vibrating), for long periods of time with frequent repetition.


Welder

Seaboard Controls, LLC is currently hiring an Welder to join the team! We are in Crosby, TX and are hiring immediately

Essential Responsibilities

  • Fit-up Weldment per required mechanical engineered drawing and product specifications.

  • Setup CC and CV welding machines to achieve desired quality results.

  • Work with small hand tools, clamps and grinders to fit-up and weld structural and sheet metal products.

  • Perform light maintenance on welding equipment such as replacing contact tips and nozzles,

  • replacing liners and entire weld gun assemblies, replacing drive rolls on wire feeders and safely

  • exchanging shielding gas bottles.

  • Instruct, mentor and monitor apprentices.

  • Perform advanced complex welds.

  • Operate plasma cutters and cut materials using power tools or by hand.

  • Operate automatic band saw and Mag drill.

  • Assist Lead Persons with training and mentoring other employees.

  • Promote a safety culture as well as attend all safety meetings.

  • Ensure quality by following standard work instructions and identify any potential risks to product quality.

  • Ensure work areas remain clean and well organized.

  • Other duties as required.

    Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience, working as Journeyman in related structural steel fabrication field.

  • CWB Certification is a requirement.

  • MIG Experience is an asset.

  • Forklift operation experience (3000#-20000#).
